Band Metrics/Indie Music Tech releases their “expanded list of music licensing companies”
The following is a guest post from James Allen. We’ve received a lot of interest about music licensing providers, so we thought we’d revise our initial list to include all of the companies that have been mentioned in the comments on IMT, and organize them in an alphabetical list below. If there are still more, please add them by commenting to this post. With almost two dozen providers listed below, and rumors that more are coming, which company do you think is the best?

Target Audience Magazine: Find yourself. Hit your target.
Target Audience Magazine is an online, quarterly publication which promotes independent artists of all genres ranging from musicians to writers and illustrators.
With the idea of community in mind, we actively seek a return of information so artists can connect with each other and cross-inspire one another. The driving force behind this mission is to inspire a poet with a painting or fuel the motivation for a song from a poem. The circular nature of art stays alive when the independent artists recognize each other and work together to stay inspired. Knowing how to self-promote and market is the second part. Once you find your voice as a passionate, creative soul, express yourself through art and find your target audience.

Hailing from Charlotte, North Carolina, Benji Hughes spends much of his time masterminding his blend of inventive rock and ballads. At times earnest, at others whimsical, Benji is equally adept at keyboards and guitar. He loves beer but he loves women even more. Underneath his thick mane of strawberry blond hair and beard is a versatile singer/songwriter, full of heart. His music collection — spanning everything from The Crystals, Merle Haggard, and Kinky Friedman to Talking Heads, The Cars, and Slayer — is as wild as his gracious exterior. Benji’s double-disc debut album, A Love Extreme, was released by New West Records on July 22nd.
Producer and L.A- bred session musician Keefus Ciancia (T-Bone Burnett, Sheryl Crow, Everlast) assisted Hughes in making his 25-song debut album in his Los Feliz, CA studio. A Love Extreme flows like your favorite mixtape but with the classicality of Randy Newman and Leonard Cohen. Benji has toured America and beyond with Rilo Kiley and Jenny Lewis since the album’s debut, received a 4-star review in Rolling Stone, and has had several of his songs featured in popular televisions shows, including Beverly Hills, 90210 & How I Met Your Mother.

T. J. Edmond: If you’re a drummer with a huge kit/ percussion set and you show up late, “I don’t have a drum tech” is not a good excuse for slow setup.
Michele Rhea Caplinger too many Christmas parties!!! ( Scrooge )
Mark Cobb just experienced the Candle Tea at Old Salem, SC. Moravian, y’all.
Sin Lucas believes that tickling is a form of TORTURE!!!
Criminal Records Atlanta A-hole Santa and Crappy the Elf are not anywhere near meeting the requirements for their work release program. They need to take about 200 more “happy” holiday photos by 6pm. C’mon down to the store, people!
Karl Kristen Gloer “As far as we can discern, the sole purpose of human existence is to kindle a light in the darkness of mere being.”
Ryan Horne Doing my best to really dive into the Christmas spirit this year. It seems as I get older it becomes more and more difficult and I don’t like that.
Matthew Smith is done. done.
Clay Cook is home.
Charlie Wooton in the spirit of giving I am cutting off all of my hair and donating it to “Locks of Love”. I hope this inspires you to give something that is hard to let go of……… Somebody needs it more than I.

Glen Pridgen To all Live Sound Engineers (sound guys for clubs)… when the band starts to play… that is your Que to put down your iPhone, close your netbook and get your ass to work. You are the bridge between what the band is playing and what their fans are hearing. Facebook and twitter will be there when you get off work.. Thi…s has moved ahead of the two handed “air quotes” as my number one pet peeve.
Elizabeth Elkins is horsesitting in the freezing rain.
Carrie Underwood: Atlanta? Tough town. It’s hard to get people to show up for anything. What do people do there?
