The following is a guest post from James Allen. We’ve received a lot of interest about music licensing providers, so we thought we’d revise our initial list to include all of the companies that have been mentioned in the comments on IMT, and organize them in an alphabetical list below. If there are still more, please add them by commenting to this post. With almost two dozen providers listed below, and rumors that more are coming, which company do you think is the best?

• Learn to Play Guitar with TouchChords March 5, 2010
  I just discovered TouchChords, an iPhone app for learning how to play guitar, and it's remarkably useful even if you already know how to play. For example, it's integrated with iTunes so you can learn the songs you want to play by purchasing the song, and TouchChords then displays the chords and lyrics in realtime with the music - goodbye tab books. • The Jackson 5 Coming Soon to ZOOZBeat February 23, 2010
  In a few weeks, ZOOZBeat will release The Jackson 5 mobile remix app, allowing users to recreate hits like "ABC," "Dancing Machine" or "I Want You Back" with loops, hooks or adding in their own vocals directly from an iPhone. Users can then upload their remix and share with friends. It's a super cool and fun app that's a bit addicting (I played with it nonstop for an hour this afternoon), so stay tuned to ZOOZBeat for their release announcement. • Bitspace: cloud hosting for your music February 21, 2010
  Bitspace, a new cloud hosting provider for your music collection just launched its public beta a few days ago. Simply download their software and safely store, organize and listen to your music catalog without having to worry about your hard drive crashing. Pricing plans start at €3.99/month (about $5.50 USD per month) for 10GB of storage (about 200 albums or 2,000 songs). Below are a couple of screenshots of their software:

Hailing from Charlotte, North Carolina, Benji Hughes spends much of his time masterminding his blend of inventive rock and ballads. At times earnest, at others whimsical, Benji is equally adept at keyboards and guitar. He loves beer but he loves women even more. Underneath his thick mane of strawberry blond hair and beard is a versatile singer/songwriter, full of heart. His music collection — spanning everything from The Crystals, Merle Haggard, and Kinky Friedman to Talking Heads, The Cars, and Slayer — is as wild as his gracious exterior. Benji’s double-disc debut album, A Love Extreme, was released by New West Records on July 22nd.

 Producer and L.A- bred session musician Keefus Ciancia (T-Bone Burnett, Sheryl Crow, Everlast) assisted Hughes in making his 25-song debut album in his Los Feliz, CA studio. A Love Extreme flows like your favorite mixtape but with the classicality of Randy Newman and Leonard Cohen. Benji has toured America and beyond with Rilo Kiley and Jenny Lewis since the album’s debut, received a 4-star review in Rolling Stone, and has had several of his songs featured in popular televisions shows, including Beverly Hills, 90210 & How I Met Your Mother.

The Captain Planet Foundation held its 15th annual X-Mas Party at the Tabernacle. At the party, Ed Begely Jr. received Superhero for the Earth award. The fundraising event included performances from Band X, Kathleen Bertrand and Ben Deignan. The proceeds from the event will support the eco-education efforts of the Captain Planet Foundation.
